Families, beach holidaymakers, nature lovers, hippies, celebrities… The crowd of Ibiza tourists is mixed. The restaurant landscape on the dream island is just as colorful. The original Ibizan cuisine itself already offers a large selection of dishes: rabbit, lamb and poultry, and of course, as is the case for an island, fish and seafood. However, many foreign restaurateurs have also become at home in Ibiza and ensure a great variety. Here is a list of the 10 best restaurants in Ibiza, five of which can be found in the island’s capital, Eivissa (Ibiza Town), the other five are worth a trip across the island!
Excellent restaurants in Eivissa
Five of the ten best restaurants in Ibiza are crowded together, so to speak, namely in Eivissa! Stroll through the old town, discover the culinary delights of the Mediterranean and don’t be surprised if one or the other celebrity comes across you.
“Lio”: The luxury restaurant “Lio” – extremely popular with celebrities – stands on a rock above the harbor. It is advisable to come to the restaurant around 8 p.m. The tables will probably be occupied later. The wine lovers among the guests can get extra advice from the sommelier in the wine cellar, which fine wine is best suited to their menu. Later in the evening there will be shows in the “Lio”: acrobatics, ballet and cabaret.
“Es Mirador”: The “Es Mirador” is the restaurant of the five-star luxury hotel “Mirador de Dalt Vila”. Guests enjoy Mediterranean gourmet cuisine in an elegant atmosphere, the wine list leaves nothing to be desired. The hotel with its restaurant is located in a former manor house from the 19th century, and the guest believes they can feel the flair of the Belle Epoque…
“La Mezcalería Mexiterránea”: The name says it all! In this gourmet restaurant in the “Dalt Vila”, the old town of Eivissa, Mexican and Mediterranean cuisine are artfully combined. Enjoy fish dishes, oysters, Mexican agave schnapps and, for dessert, an ice cream that has of course been freshly prepared. The restaurant is open daily from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Night owls can also treat themselves to a cocktail here before returning to their hotel.
“La Oliva”: The “La Oliva” restaurant is located in a narrow alley in the old town. Provencal and Mediterranean dishes are on the menu. Do you love fish dishes (maybe salmon?), Chicken or well-cooked meat? Then take a seat in “La Oliva” – inside or at one of the tables in front of the restaurant on the alley! (Of course it’s a pedestrian zone!)
“Pastis”: A French couple runs this small, family-run restaurant in Eivissa, just outside the old town. The wine list offers the right good drops for typical French dishes. French chansons can be heard as subtle background music. In short: you have the feeling of sitting on a side street in Paris…
These restaurants outside of Eivissa are well worth a visit!
