Popular attractions included the Table Mountain National Park which offers visitors spectacular views of Cape Town; the Kruger National Park which is home to an array of wildlife including lions, elephants and rhinos; and Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years during apartheid. Additionally, there are several festivals throughout the year such as Cape Town International Jazz Festival which celebrates jazz music from around the world with performances from both local and international artists; as well as Freedom Day celebrations on April 27th which mark the end of apartheid in 1994.
